BOOKING YOUR FIRST CLASS

We suggest starting with our Beginner Boxing class, which hones in on the basic punches and technique to set you up for success in all the classes we offer.

It takes several classes before the boxing moves start to feel comfortable. Stick with it and give yourself time to improve.

WHAT TO WEAR

AND BRING

CLOTHES

Wear comfortable exercise clothes and be prepared to sweat!

WATER BOTTLE

Please bring your own water bottle. We have bottle-refilling stations at the gym.

SHOES

Bring supportive sneakers that will allow you to run, jump, and squat comfortably. Boxing shoes are encouraged if you have them.

CHANGE OF CLOTHES (optional)

Our gym has showers and changing rooms, so feel free to bring a change of clothes for after the workout.

What you don’t need

BOXING GLOVES

If you have gloves, feel free to bring them. Rental gloves are included in beginner classes.

BOXING WRAPS

Boxing wraps are available for purchase for $10.

PROTECTIVE GEAR

Beginners don’t need protective gear because they don’t get hit. There is no sparring in any of our classes.

Arriving at

Bay Breakers Boxing

  • New clients should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time to get checked in, tour the space, and allow time for coaches to assist with your hand wraps and gloves. We want to make you feel comfortable and set you up for success!

  • You can come ready for class or change when you get here. We have open cubbies to store your belongings.

  • Boxing wraps are critical to protect your wrists and prevent injury, and we help all our clients to wrap their wrists tightly and comfortably. Going forward, our coaches are always available to help you get wrapped up correctly. Keeping you safe is our top priority so don't hesitate to ask for help.

  • Our gym has multiple showers and changing rooms, to refresh after class

FAQs

  • Your safety is our top priority, which is why we use all the proper equipment to prevent any injuries. you will not get hit! there is no sparring in beginner classes

  • Nope! Our classes cater to all experience levels and you don't need to know anything about boxing when you start

  • No, we've had athletes as young as 16 take our classes (*parental consent is required) and our members vary in age. We provide a space where anyone, of any fitness level, can work toward their fitness goals and feel supported by our tight-knit community

  • If you have your own gear, feel free to bring it. If you don't, we've got you covered! Beginner classes are provided with free gloves, and a collection of custom gloves are available for purchase. Hand wraps are also available for purchase for $10

  • Yes, we have showers and ample changing rooms. Please bring your own bath towel

  • New clients should arrive at least 15 minutes before class start time to get checked in. We suggest that existing members arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the start of class

  • Classes range from 2-14. We keep our group classes small so we can focus in on technique and coaches can give individual attention to everyone throughout class.
